About the court

The Court is a state authority implementing justice in the Republic of Lithuania.

The District Court of Vilnius City is the first instance which examines criminal proceedings, civil proceedings, administrative offense cases (which are within the competence of this Court in accordance with the law), the cases which are within the competence of mortgage judges and the cases related to enforcement of decisions and judgments. The judges working at a district court also perform the functions of a pre-trial investigation judge and other functions which are within the competence of a district court in accordance with the law.
